How to vet a Utah dealer (6-point checklist)

   Only buy major-brand hot tubs and pools from factory-authorized dealers. Authorized dealers get warranty support, trained installers, and access to current model-year inventory. Check each brand's dealer locator (linked on our brand pages) before signing a contract.

   Years in business in Utah

   Utah's pool and hot tub industry has seen rapid turnover. Prefer dealers with 10+ years at the same address. Short-lived dealers struggle to honor warranties if the brand retracts dealer rights.

   Specialist vs generalist

   Hot tub dealers are almost always hot-tub-only. Pool builders are usually pool-only. If a company claims to do both equally well, be wary — ask for recent references in each category.

   Written quote with line items

   A legitimate dealer will itemize: unit cost, delivery, electrical, gas (if applicable), permitting, site prep, cover, steps, start-up chemicals, and warranty registration. Vague lump-sum quotes hide add-ons.

   Install crew — in-house vs subcontracted

   Ask who actually performs the install. In-house install crews are generally faster and more accountable; subcontracted installs vary widely. Hot tub delivery is usually in-house; pool install is almost always in-house for good builders.

   Real post-sale service

   The #1 Utah hot tub complaint is post-sale service. Ask how long warranty service calls typically take in winter. 2–5 days is normal; 2+ weeks is a red flag. Look for dealers with dedicated service techs, not third-party pass-throughs.
